A pioneer in women’s rights advocacy, Shaista Bukhari established WRA with a mission to give voice, dignity, and protection to marginalized women across Pakistan.
With decades of experience in gender justice, community mobilization, and policy reform, she has shaped WRA into one of the region’s most trusted organizations.

Ali Hassan
Chief of Strategy & Program Execution
Ali Hassan leads WRA’s overall strategy, operational direction, and program implementation.
With strong expertise in project management, youth engagement, and organizational development, he ensures that every initiative is executed with purpose, integrity, and measurable impact.
His core strengths include:

Muhammad Asad Hashmi
Head of Legal Services & Mental Health Advocacy
A passionate human rights defender and lawyer, Muhammad Asad Hashmi leads WRA’s legal services unit and mental health advocacy wing.
He specializes in supporting survivors of domestic violence, workplace harassment, and human rights violations through legal counseling, rights awareness, and psychological first aid.
Mrs. Rabia
Senior Education & Learning Consultant
With deep experience in community education, curriculum design, and child development, Mrs. Rabia leads WRA’s education initiatives.
She works closely with underserved communities including gypsy families, street children, and rural girls to expand access to learning and awareness.
Muhammad Umar Khan
Consultant
Muhammad Umar Khan serves as a key Consultant at WRA, bringing analytical expertise, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to gender-responsive development. With a diverse background in program evaluation, organizational strengthening, and community engagement, he supports WRA in enhancing efficiency, quality, and impact across its initiatives.
